Fundraising Tip…

TAC Submissions Incentive…

Dear Chapters in the Mountain Region,

Here are some important announcements from the National office:

1) May 27th at 5PM CT for Water resource evaluation and testing
——————————————————————————-
In this webinar, we will discuss the basic factors to be considered
when performing an assessment for a water project including:
area/population to be served, demand, selection of source (ground,
surface, rain), transmission, and economics. We will also discuss the
basics of water quality testing, options for treatment, filtration,
purification, pumping/transport, and storage.

2) Fundraising Tip
————————
Remember that you can provide links on blogs, emails, MySpace or Facebook pages to your project and/or chapter page on the EWB-USA website. Both locations provide a Donate button for interested contributors. Funds donated through our website are subject to a 5% administrative fee which covers the cost of processing the credit card and maintaining your account. While other fundraising sites (Network for Good, Global Giving) allow donations as well, they cost you more – typically 4-5% from them, and then our administrative fee on top of it. So think carefully about where you want to direct your donors!

3) TAC Submissions Incentive
————————————–
We want to clarify the requirements for receiving the $50 Assessment incentive and $100 Implementation incentive for chapters that submit paperwork for projects:
A) The 507 must be submitted by the TAC deadline. Deadlines are listed on this webpage: http://ewb-usa.org/TAC&Travel.php. You should email the 507 to the Projects Coordinator at <projects@ewb-usa.org>.
B) 605’s from travel team members must be submitted before the TAC deadline (if you’re not sure who will be on your travel team this far ahead of your travel date, simply have all potential travel team members sign a 605). You should fax or email these forms to your Region’s Chapter Relations Manager.
C) 608’s from each travel team member must be submitted within 4 weeks of the TAC deadline. These should be faxed or emailed to your Region’s Chapter Relations Manager.

Thank you for taking the time to review these announcements and pass them on to your chapter accordingly. If you feel that someone else in your chapter should be added to the Monthly Email to Chapters list, please let me know.

Warm Regards,

Colleen O’Holleran
Chapter Relations Manager, Mountain and South East Regions

Phone: 720-204-3197
Fax: 303-772-2699

(This excerpt if from an extensive writeup of the work by Bernard Amadei and the Boulder chapters in Nepal, done recently by the Rocky Mountain News.)
