Nepali Cultural Celebration

Namaste,

We hope your plans will allow you to join us two weeks from today on April 11th for the Nepali Cultural Celebration.  We have an entertaining and informative afternoon planned for you with information about the 2010 Nepal project along with Nepali music and Nepali food.  We have also added some exciting items to our auction – a weekend in the Rockies and a hot air balloon ride!

The value of the work of EWB-CU Team Nepal was highlighted this past week on March 22nd, World Water Day.  The UN specifically noted the treatment of wastewater as a significant factor in creating adequate world water supplies. The Reed Bed project in Nepal addresses exactly this issue.

The UN’s theme for 2010 is “Clean Water for a Healthy World.”

“More people die from unsafe water than from all forms of violence, including war. These deaths are an affront to our common humanity, and undermine the efforts of many countries to achieve their development potential.”

Ban Ki-Moon, Secretary-General, United Nations
March 22, 2010
