Wastewater project in Honduras, presented by Chris Fahlin (FahlinCJ@cdm.com)

The project would include technical assistance and design for the engineers within San Pablo Sula for a wastewater pond which is presumed to contain wastewater from the town and the near by sugar factory. If approved, the first trip would include site investigation and project suggestions. No current or future general chapter funds will be allocated for this project. CDM has agreed to pay for their employees to travel for the assessment trip.

Ambalona Village
Madagascar Water Project, presented by Tom Rutkowski (trutkowski@golder.com)

The project would focus on the potable water system for the village of Ambalona and
would pair with the NGO Hope for Madagascar which has been started by woman in
Boulder originally from Madagascar. Options for the potable water system may include utilization of the nearby river (300m from village), seeps, and wells. Hope for Madagascar has committed to donating $1500. There is a $10,000 private foundation commitment as well. Other sources include Golder Associates and a Madagascar dinner fundraiser. If approved, no current or future general chapter funds will be allocated for this project.

Chapter Vote

A ballot vote took place to determine if the chapter approves the submittal of the 501
forms to EWB-USA. Both projects passed to continue to the next step of submitting 501 forms to EWB-USA.
